The Preparedness Gap

More than 81,000 people died from opioid overdoses in the United States in 2023, according to the CDC. Opioid deaths have more than doubled since 2019.
Another 60,000 people die each year from severe bleeding after traumatic injuries. Trauma is the leading cause of death for Americans ages 1 to 46.
There are more than 3 million AEDs in public spaces across the country. But lifesaving tools for overdose and severe bleeding are rarely just as accessible. When emergencies happen, people often want to help. They just do not have the tools within reach.

What Is the Sora System?
What Is the Sora System?
Sora is a network of smart, accessible rescue containers placed where emergencies actually happen, workplaces, campuses, public spaces, neighborhoods.
Each container holds lifesaving supplies like naloxone, tourniquets, dressings, and bandages. Clear, step-by-step instructions are included inside. A QR code on the outside lets anyone quickly learn what to do before or during an emergency.
But Sora is more than a box on the wall. Every container is connected through a centralized web app. Supplies are tracked. Expiration dates are monitored. When a door opens, the right people are notified. Owners can check status remotely without constant manual inspections.
That means:
Supplies are ready when they’re needed
Maintenance takes less time and labor
Nothing gets forgotten or overlooked
Sora puts rescue tools into the hands of bystanders, and makes sure they’re actually ready to use.
Prepared. Monitored. Available.
